
Yasamin Saffarian (b. 1990, Tehran) is an interdisciplinary artist working with photography, artist books, drawing, text, and video.
She is a withdrawn undergraduate student of Iranian music performance (Tar) at the University of Art, Tehran (class of 2008), as well as a withdrawn undergraduate student in Photography at the University of Tehran (class of 2012). She later graduated with a Fine Arts Diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig in 2020.
She was one of the three artists selected to participate free of charge in the three-day Artist Book workshop led by Claudia de la Torre in Berlin in 2021. In 2020, she received the Denkzeit Grant from the State of Saxony, Germany for the realization of her project Recovery Book. In 2019, she was awarded the DAAD Prize as the outstanding international student at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig.
From 2021 to 2024, she returned to Tehran. Her first solo exhibition in Iran, titled “Resident, Here, There,” was held in the summer of 2025 at Amanatdari, Rasht.〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
